Hans Haacke, guest lecturer presented by the TCNJ Department of Art and Art History will be speaking on campus on Monday, February 24 at 7:30PM in Education Building 212. This event, titled “Show and Tell”, is free and open to the public.
Hans Haacke’s work is known for its institutional critique. His ongoing interest in real-time systems undergirds his social and political criticism. He focuses on the art world and the system of exchange between museums and the corporate world, the exchange of “symbolic capital” and “financial capital.” As an artist and critic, Haacke is intent on making this relationship clear to viewers.
